Six Bell Novices Section Competition Rules

A "novice" shall be defined as any ringer whose capabilities range from that of a relative newcomer to the beginnings of method ringing, but who has not yet completed their first quarter peal, other than on a covering bell.
Each team shall have a minimum of four novice ringers who all belong to the same band, ONE co-opted experienced ringer and/or ONE borrowed experienced or novice ringer. In this section no ringer may ring for more than one team, though the experienced ringers may participate in the Method section.
At least 50% of the team must be members of the EDA.
Each team will be allowed five minutes to practice, immediately before their competition begins.
The start of the test piece is to be signified to the judges by two whole pulls of the TREBLE (i.e. 4 blows)
The following piece constitutes the test piece for ALL teams:
There should be a minimum of six rows of each change.
Marking will begin on the first called change and finish when returned to rounds
Only members of the competition teamwill be allowed in the ringing chamber for the duration of the test piece; the conductor must be a member of the team.
Scratch bands will not count in the overall placing
Teams entering the competition must notify the organiser no later than 24 hours before the start of the event. (exception are scratch bands)
The judges decision shall be final.
